Biography
(continued)
In the summer of 2003 I began to write a collection of songs
inspired by significant changes in my personal life. Based
around a melody, an acoustic guitar and hip-hop drum loops,
this music eventually became something I could really be passionate
about. All I have ever wanted to be is truly passionate about
the music I play. I’ve spent years trying to write music
that moved me this way. These songs, though, achieved this
effortlessly.
After
making recordings of seven tracks in my home studio, I presented
them to my long time friend and Stuck Mojo/Fozzy manager Mark
Willis. He said that he, as well as his wife and daughter,
loved the new material and suggested that I meet with a local
producer that may be interested in collaborating on this project,
what would eventually be known as simply, The Duke. After
meeting with producer Rick Beato, we decided to pick three
songs to develop and record along with long-time friends;
drummer Frank “Bud” Fontsere and bassist Sean
Delson. You can hear these tracks here.
If you’ve
read this far, I’d like to say thanks for spending the
time to get to know me and my music. My early life as a musician
has been a great ride. Whether you’ve followed me through
the years, or you’ve just discovered me, The Duke is
going to be an interesting ride. Because, as usual, I don’t
know where I’m going to be ten minutes from now.
